Incorporated in 1931, Muttontown is a Village within the Town of Oyster Bay. One of the many exclusive areas on the Gold Coast North Shore, Muttontown’s roots were actually steeped in sheep pasturage, hence the origins of the name. Much larger than its contemporary border communities, Muttontown occupies over 6 square miles or 4,500+ acres of pristine lands. This residential community is surrounded to the West by The Village of Brookville, to the East by the Village of Oyster Bay Cove, to the North by East Norwich and the Village of Upper Brookville.

Jericho
Jericho is a hamlet within the Town of Oyster Bay however there is a small part to the west that is considered to be inside the Town of Hempstead’s jurisdiction. Originally part of the Williams Plantation, Jericho became the name it is referred around the late 1690s. With approximately 4.1 square miles of suburban living, Jericho is home to such notable attractions as The Jericho Cider Mill, a holiday staple since 1938 and NY Community Bank Theatre, originally known as Westbury Music Fair. Of note is also the historic Meadow Brook Club, an exclusive golf and country club established in 1881.
Known for its outstanding public schools, Jericho is a typical bedroom community with tree-lined streets and manicured lawns. Syosset
Syosset is a hamlet on the North Shore of Long Island. Though not a Gold Coast staple, Syosset enjoys its proximity to the many Gold Coast estates outside of its 5.0 square miles in the northeastern section of the Town of Oyster Bay. Surrounded by Oyster Bay, Woodbury, Plainview, Muttontown and East Norwich, Syosset is close to the major thoroughfares of the Long Island Expressway and Northern State Parkway making the 32 mile commute into Manhattan a short ride by car or a convenient train ride from the Syosset Rail Station on Jackson Avenue. A town of vibrant social activity and strong schools, Syosset is dominated by single family homes with picturesque lawns and yards. Home styles vary considerably from smaller ranches to stately colonials. Restaurants, shopping centers and boutiques of all kinds populate the main corridor of Jericho Turnpike (Route 25) giving residents a myriad of choices and business owners a very affluent demographic in which sell their wares.

Woodbury
The hamlet of Woodbury within Oyster Bay Township was at one point mainly dairy country and large estates. Today it is a thriving dynamic suburb on the North Shore of Long Island. Residential housing styles including single family homes and condominium communities and proximity to business centers of commerce like the Gateway Executive Mall and the expansive shopping plaza of Woodbury Commons caters to the hamlet’s affluent residents. Children may attend the Syosset Central School District, as Woodbury does not have its own school district. Additionally children from Syosset, Muttontown, Oyster Bay Cove, and parts of Jericho, Laurel Hollow, and Plainview would also attend the Syosset Schools..
The rail commute to Manhattan is approximately 51 minutes and those who wish to go by auto can easily take one of three main roads via Long Island Expressway, Northern State Parkway and the Seaford-Oyster Bay Expressway.
